The development of NEOREST NX began with the aim of designing the next generation toilet, looking forward to the next 100 years in celebration of TOTO’s 100th anniversary. “A bathroom where people truly relax must provide comfort and satisfy people’s emotional needs.”
Designer Yuji Yoshioka and his team aimed to create a product with a distinct, attractive presence, rather than simply being an element in the bathroom space. “Ceramic changes shape during firing. This makes it different from plastic or metal, which can be easily shaped into straight lines. I thought that a round shape that takes advantage of this property would naturally highlight the soft and delicate beauty of the ceramic material, like an antique vase.”
Based on this idea, NEOREST NX is designed to optimize the natural beauty of ceramic materials. The product shows focus and meticulousness to every detail, with an ideal and perfect design even when the toilet lid is open, by eliminating gaps and contours around the joints.
