This is a long-awaited first book! The book introduces 15 residential architectural works by Takahara Yoshiharu, an architect who constantly seeks unfinished architectural works, through photographs and drawings.
The book provides an insight into the appeal of Takahara's architecture, showcasing the quality of Japanese residential architecture by developing new architectural techniques without departing from the traditional roots of architecture. This book is highly anticipated by Takahara's fans, as it provides a detailed introduction to 15 residential architectural works.
The book begins with Takahara's introduction on how he perceives architecture. Through photographs taken by photographer Kinmaki Yutaka and hand-drawn sketches by Muu-Ar studio, an architectural studio led by Takahara, the book delves deep into the details of these architectural works. These works have a modern style while still respecting traditional Japanese construction methods and materials, and provide high-quality architecture with maximum accuracy.
The book also includes articles by architectural historian Fujimoto Terunobu and architect Hanada Yoshiaki on Takahara's architecture, providing a better understanding of the key points of Takahara's architecture that were previously undervalued. At the end of the book, data on the architectural works are listed up to the 150th work, along with summary drawings of the spatial structures of each work, allowing readers to view the works from the establishment of the studio to the present.
